Lecce’s 167 district under an urban art attack
On 22 and 23 June 2019, the 167/B district of Lecce became the stage for the celebrations of
the 10th anniversary of “South Italy Street Art”
The event was curated by our association “167/B Street”, active for years in this suburban district of the city, in collaboration with the official partner “Caparol”.
“South Italy Street Art” is an art movement born in January 2009 with the aim of becoming a dynamic platform able to connect national and international artists. It is a free movement that grows through the many influences the world of urban art brings with it; its philosophy is complete freedom of expression, free from traditional and stigmatised ideas of art.
What better way to celebrate an art movement than by inviting several local artists who have supported urban art over the years to paint murals in the streets of the Lecce district.
